NHS Role Profiles and DDaT Census
The work to complete a full set of NHS digital, data, and IT roles continues, with cyber security and CIO roles now completed. Work is underway on patient services roles, including clinical coding and education and training roles. If you have any E&T job descriptions that you would like to share, please send them to jan.hoogewerf@bcs.uk. The NHS role profiles are here.
We are holding a webinar about the role profiles and the RoleModelplus tool, which was used to develop them and can be used for workforce planning and personal development planning. See details under events below.
Following on from the successful DDaT workforce census in 2024, the National DSDN Coordination & Liaison Committee has decided to carry out another Regional Workforce Census in 2025. The census will be completed by individual organisations reflecting the staffing they have in post as at 31st March 2025 under the DDaT job families. The collection will be very similar to last year, but with job families being updated and the process being improved. The workforce data collection is a valuable piece of work that will inform future regional and national workforce planning. If you would like access to the 2024 census data dashboard, please contact: vikki.hilton-greenhalgh@nhs.net or christinebanks@nhs.net.
Education and Events Committees
We are looking for volunteers to join our education and events committees. Volunteering can be good for the CV and a way of extending your network. Our education committee role is to advocate for, develop and promote education for those working in digital data and technical roles and routes into such roles. Our events committee is dedicated to putting on an exciting programme of webinars and other events, including our annual Faculty conference. If you would like to join either committee, we’d love to hear from you! Please email jan.hoogewerf@bcs.uk with details of your interest and any relevant experience.
